| Full Testimony | They were led by young Lithuanians, the so-called Shaulis (Lithuanian Police). They would visit houses of those who did not own a work card. A few thousand Jews were taken to Ponary. It was a place of extermination. About 100,000 people died there; 75,000 Jews, the rest were Polish priests, Russians, Lithuanians and Polish communists. |
